Ben missed the first prize of a guitar but had the closest bid for an amazing laptop and external hard drive which got him on stage to play the "In the Bag" game.
If you are not familiar with the show there are 6 grocery items but only 5 bags to line up the correct price. The winnings keep doubling to a possible win of $16000 but you lose everything if you get any wrong. Ben was so excited and super confident and blew us all away with his win! We knew the outcome since October so it was wonderful to watch the show without the stress of wondering what would happen
He continued to live his dream by spinning the big wheel, landing on the 90 and going to the final showcase.
He bid $35000 on a showcase that included a trip to Australia and a new car but was under by $9000 and his opponent was only off by $750. He was an amazing sport and congratulated the other winner.
We enjoyed a family watch party and actually seeing all of the stories that Ben shared with us since October. He was not allowed to tell the outcome of the show under threat of having the prizes revoked and it was quite an accomplishment for him to keep a secret that long!!
To those that are wondering what he did with the money, he had a small car accident right before he left for California and the car was not repairable. He was able to buy a car with the winnings and is so happy to have his own wheels again!
It is so much fun to watch Ben's dreams come true and this is one for the books!!
